[mythtv-users] ffwd & skipping jumps all the way to the end of recordings

Thanks Ronald,

I had a feeling I was doing something dumb like that.

In the meantime I found this article in the Mythtv Wiki about repairing the
seek table, http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Repairing_the_Seektable
I tried to run the optimize_mythdb.pl script but I get "command not found"
even though I can see the script in the
/usr/share/doc/mythtv-backend/contrib directory.
Is this likely a problem with the permissions setup?
Can someone give me some advice on how the permissions for the whole machine
should be setup? I have everything pretty much defaulted to how the
Mythbuntu LiveCD set things up. I don't want to be modifying files on an
individual basis.

Ian, if you can spell out the commands you were recommending a bit more I'd
really appreciate it.
