Benchmarks for the two chips can be found at:

I believe I selected the right Athlon 64. You might double check and see 
if that 3000+ is clocked at 2.0 GHZ. If so, I got the right one.

I'm not sure what I'd do if I were in your shoes. If you are or are 
aiming to do a lot of HD in the future, I'd save my money for dual or 
quad core.
