Among other things you have not even told us what version you are 
running, whether you compiled it, and whether it has ever run properly.

At this point, I suspect mythfilldatabase is failing.

If you go to 'Information', how many days listings does it show? It 
should be 14 after a mythfilldatabase run.

If it is what I think it it, you need to edit /etc/my.conf to set the 
TMPDIR= line to (for the moment) TMPDIR=/var/lib/mysql

'Mysql' owns that folder, and has permission to write to it. If that 
does not fail, then the error is with the permissions on where it is 
trying to write...Been there, lost hair...
