It sounds like you're using the curses driver, instead of the one 
specific for your display. I can't be sure, but it looks like the Zalman 
HD-160 has an iMon VFD, in which case you need to use the "imon" driver.

In your /etc/LCDd.conf file, change the Driver to "imon" under [server] 
and also make sure the Device setting is correct in the [imon] section 
(i.e. it should be something like /dev/lcd0).
