Okay, I know some of you have already been here and done this, so tell
me where I went off the rails, please.
I have installed CentOS 5.1 and added a repo file for ATrpms to
/etc/yum.repos.d. (And rebooted, as I shutdown the system for the
night afterwards.)
I installed the nvidia-graphics rpms from ATrpms. (And rebooted, as I
shutdown the system for the second night afterwards.)
This is *all* I have installed on this system I intend to build into
another MythTV frontend.
So far, so good. ;-)
Now, when I tried, tonight, to install mythtv with "yum install
mythtv" it cranked for awhile and quit with these problems:
Error: Missing Dependency: perl(XML::Writer) >= 0.600 is needed by
package perl-XMLTV
Error: Missing Dependency: libFLAC.so.8 is needed by package mythmusic
Error: Missing Dependency: PIL is needed by package mytharchive
Error: Missing Dependency: perl(XML::Twig) >= 3.28 is needed by
package xmltv-grabbers
I had the impression that I either A) didn't want to use freshrpms
with CentOS or B) *couldn't* use it, so I don't have it (nor any other
repositories added, for that matter).
Was that incorrect and that's why these dependencies couldn't be
resolved, or is there somewhere else I should be getting these from,
or is there something I should have done first that I need to address?
Craig.
