Perhaps, but I think they are faster than flash devices.

I have one of the original IBM units, it's been working for over 7  
years, but that might not be typical. Note also that those are  
"refurbished", I'm not sure how you would go about "refurbishing" one  
of those. I suspect it means that it tested good.

I've also seen "refurbished" CPUs, I'm not sure how one would refurb a  
chip, maybe straighten the bent pins? I suspect that actually means  
"pulls".
