I am having a problem with the transcoder where it errors out while
downconverting an HD to a lower SD format. Essentially, firewire starts
recording on an SD channel, then it changes to the appropriate HD channel.
Now the file has both SD and HD formats in it, causing the transcoder to
error out. I do not use a channel changer script. I have a SA 4250.
Essentially I get a segfault.

This is mythtv-0.20.2-169.fc6 (MythDora 4).
The workaround has been to view the file on my notebrick and edit out the
first few seconds, then resubmit the transcode job.
I found this thread, but no solution
