[mythtv-users] Is 4GB RAM overkill for mythtv?

I have had 4GB of ram in my mythtv box since 2006. Back then I paid
$300 for the memory and this was very cheap at the time...

I would agree it is an overkill (if I only used the machine for myth)
but it does help a lot with mytharchive and transcoding because I have
a lot of free ram available for cache.

Now that 4GB of DDR2 can be had for less than $100US I would still
consider it if I built a myth only box though.
