hello.

got a strange problem with my PVR-150 and mythtv. i can watch live TV
without issue, but unattended recordings always fail. meaning, if you're
watching TV and a schedule recording pops up, you select to allow
recording and watch it, then it records fine without any issues. but if
the mythtv is idle before the recording starts then it fails.

i've seen this error listed in many places, usually with older versions,
but i have yet to see a solid solution.

here's my mythbackend logs...

...that last error keeps repeating every ~5s.

i'm running gentoo, i've tried these things in various combinations...
mythtv-0.20.2_p14972, 0.20.2_p15634, 0.21_pre15718
kernels 2.6.22-gentoo-r4, 2.6.23-gentoo-r8 and 2.6.23-gentoo-r6
ivtv 1.0.3-r1 and r2, 10.6, vanilla 1.0.3
several different firmwares for ivtv

live TV works fine and 'cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg' works fine _before_
the first scheduled unattended recording but fails after (0 byte files).

here's the relevant dmesg output...

mythic ~ # dmesg |grep -i ivtv
