Further research indicates that ohci_hcd provides low speed (USB1.0) and
not high speed as I wrote above. I tried blacklisting it on my system
and it still loaded anyway and, to make matters worse, it loaded before
ehci_hcd. I also played around with /etc/modules to see if I could
influence the order that the modules are loaded and seemed to be able to
get ehci_hcd to load first by including an entry for it in this file.
Encouraged by this I connected the usb tuner and rebooted only to find
the ohci_hcd loaded first and the tuner worked anyway! I give up.
