This is a mythbuntu box right?  Perhaps there is a setting in the
mythbuntu control center thingo.

I too am using the official Ubuntu repos for mythtv.  I should check
if my frontend is producing log files too. :\  I would have thought
log-rotate would handle them getting too big though.  Perhaps your
installation doesn't include log-rotate, or it is miconfigured.

Will let you know what I find out from my box tonight.
