You may have missed my email in the huge pile of emails, but you can
purchase an s-video to composite adapter for under $5 (and I believe
one comes with many of the pvr-x50 cards):

Might be worth a try.  In fact, that is what I just switched over to
(now I just have to figure out why after 30 minutes it switches back
to the tuner input rather than keeping it on the svideo input).
