I just fixed my font problems:

Install TTF font in CentOS is easy. You can do it but you need root access.

   - check if directory */usr/share/fonts/TTF* exists, create it if not
   exist.
   - copy any *.TTF file font you want to install to /usr/share/fonts/TTF/
   directory
   - run command: */sbin/service xfs reload*

I had to restart my frontend for the changes to take.  You can get the ttf
fonts from a windows box if you have one available...
