And when you do that, be aware that the driver and the documentation don't
always match with nvidia so if something doesn't work, it may not be you.

I was unable to get what you are suggesting to work satisfactorily.  The
problem was that the different resolutions required by the TV and the
monitor just wasn't allowed.  It turns out I actually didn't want to watch
both displays at the same time.  What I ended up doing was configure
xorg.conf for both displays but let myth boot to the highest priority
display, the monitor.  If I want to watch the TV, I disconnect the monitor
and restart X.  Sounds bad but works great for us.  In my case, I use DVI
for a projector and S-Video for the TV.  I have a DVI switching processor so
I just set it for another input and restart X and we are good to go for the
TV.  If I want to project the signal, I switch the processor to Myth and
restart X.  Before the projector has warmed up, myth is on.  Reverse when I
turn the projector off and myth is ready before we turn on the TV again.
