Check out the HDTV Primer antenna page 
(http://www.hdtvprimer.com/ISSUES/erecting_antenna.html) for a wealth of 
good information on antennas for HDTV. If you will have digital channels 
in the 7-13 range after Feb you should look at the new Channel Master 
CM4228HD which apparently breaks down to fit through the attic opening. 
I've had very good results with the original 4228  but it doesn't fit 
through most attic openings.
