In addition to the immediate commflagging that everyone mentioned,
you can <gasp> skip 30 seconds at a time. Which is what everyone
in Tivo-land does.

No one answered the OP's question. Can someone give him a clue
as to what to look at to see why his recordings are acting
"unexpectedly" ?
