That said, I've been on the fence about purchasing the requisite hardware
for a solid state, fanless vdapu solution (low power, low noise, and cheap)
simply because I have no experience with compiling myth, never used svn, and
wouldn't really be able to do a whole lot of it on my own (with current
knowledge base).

Backed by a community that isn't terrified of a relative newbie trying to do
what he can on the bleeding edge, I might take the plunge.

I think I'm up to the challenge, but I hope I don't get shot down for asking
too many newbie questions!
