Those are pretty...  Too pretty.  I have to wonder how much of the cost 
is due to the finish.

Really, why the heck are companies doing this?  If I am looking for a 
rack mount server case, I couldn't care less if it has an anodized 
aluminum finish or a polished piano black case, I want the thing to have 
the room for a full ATX or EATX board and a good amount of drive bays 
with semi-decent air flow at a minimum.

Blinkins are a bonus, not just because my geek side likes them and finds 
them fascinating to watch, but being able to see what a system is doing 
at a glance is always a good thing IMO.  However, in no way are a lack 
of them a deal breaker.

I wanted pretty for the A/V stack in my living room, not for the house 
server which sits in my bedroom in a corner.  All cases look the same 
from a SSH session.

I guess I could blame Apple.  They are the first company that I can 
recall that released a rack mount server with a brushed metal finish on 
the case.
