What do you mean from a regular shell? I start mythbackend using: "sudo
/etc/rc.d/mythbackend start" and have it as a daemon in my /etc.rc.conf for
starting at boot-up. And what do mean by environment and $HOME has changed?
Really wanna get this sucker fixed ;)
