I saw this error just before I rebuilt my myth box recently, and it was
so bad I had to use my PS3 via UPnP to watch anything. Turned out it was
my graphics card had gone bad. I replaced the card with a spare and
everything was fine.
However this was only for a week max, as the box was rebuilt on a new
machine very soon afterwards, so don't take that as a definite solution.
I only mention it as reception was definitely not the culprit, so don't
concentrate on that too much.
