I can see not wanting to go over 4 hours, if you want to burn them to
DVD, or even 2 hours if you don't want to pay for DL media.

When the time comes to delete them it might be a lengthy process, if
you're using ext-2/3 and not using slow deletes that might be a problem,
as was pointed out.

But I agree, the file size shouldn't be a problem per se.
