[mythtv-users] Standard way to give real names to recording file names?

Hi...

Was wondering, is there a standard way (like: did someone write a 
script) to give real names to mythtv recordings?

I had thought I saw a thread where people were symbolically linking to 
mythtv recordings (leaving the original recordings alone).  But the 
symbolic links had files names that were easy to understand.  Like 
MASH_20080424_1600.mpg -> /var/lib/mythrecordings/2111_2008042415000.mpg.
