I don't know what you understand under driver release (drivers tend to 
be released with the kernel) but I think it would take much less until 
there is something useable. A month seems reasonable. The device is not 
that complex after all. It just encodes video and audio. It has no 
tuner. It is an USB device which makes reverse engineering easier.
