thats exactly it, I usually just go through the canned searches on
mythweb for say sci fi and new movies, south park etc, maybe once a week
and record what I havent seen in a while. Im in the same boat as you I
have a fairly small HD, 100 gig, and it fills fast, thats why I use mp4,
after transcode the files are alot smaller, for example :
Jason X ... havent seen this one in forever
Transcode (Finished: Sun Apr 20, 2008, 03:10 PM)
Autodetect: 4.9 GB => 2.2 GB
and
a south park episode
Transcode (Finished: Sat Apr 19, 2008, 11:53 PM)
Autodetect: 1.6 GB => 562.7 MB
as you can see mp4 is about 1/2 the size of .mpg, quite handy when you
have a small HD.
