Not all HD transmitters are running at full power yet. This will
probably change shortly before full power stations are required
to turn off their analog transmitters.

Anyway, a decent antenna on your roof is basically a requirement
at the moment. Have a look at what antennaweb.org says for your
area and then get 1 class higher grade antenna than what they
recommend. If for some reason the antenna can't go on the roof
get an antenna 3 classes higher than they recommend and stick
it in the attic. (This is assuming no serious obstructions
between you and the transmitter.)

The good news is that once you get a few dB above *no signal* you
get a *perfect signal*
