I suggest 64-bit CentOS 5.1. I am a 10+ year Red Hat distribution user,
who was using Fedora Core 6 before switching to CentOS 5.1.
At the same time, I switched from 32-bit to 64-bit so that I could use
all my machine's memory. MythTV has been more stable on my CentOS 5.1
installation than on my Fedora Core 6 installation, so I am quite happy.
If there are benefits beyond the access to the memory, I have not
noticed them. However, I have not looked for them because I did not have
any bottlenecks before the switch and I do not have any bottlenecks now.
