FireWire-based channel changes are always rock solid, in my
experience,[1] even if videostream connections aren't, so I (and, I
imagine, many others) would still use FireWire for that purpose even
if I were to shift to this device as opposed to FireWire for the video
content itself. I would hope MythTV would support such an arrangement
natively, but if not there's always '6200ch' as long as there's place
to specify an external channel-change script.

[1] Minus the occasional dropped digit, but a) they nowadays occur so
rarely in my experience to not be worth the trouble and b) IR
blasters' dropped-digit issues are more serious, as I know from my
TiVo days.
