I usually use the --skip-extended-insert option on myqsldump. This is not 
just on Myth, but for website backends in my hosting business.

Often, if you are restoring to a different envrionment you may need to make 
minor tweaks to the data before you restore. It is far easier to do this 
with a global search and replace in an editor if you have separate INSERT 
statements than if all your data is on one big line. 

In terms of Myth -- if you are restoring to a new machine and the hostname 
changes, it's a simple matter to just change all instances of 'oldhost' to 
'newhost' and restore the database.
