This does not backup the video files. It is pretty much up to the user
to do that. If you are seriously worried about that you should get
extra sata drives and copy or (raid ) the video files to the backup.
Since I will never have enough space with mythtv I do not do either
and I  use mytharcchvie to move videos to DVD.
