Thanks :-)  I used to actually know that. (but that was 3 years ago and 
I never used it)

I went into setup and set all commercial breaks to "notify" by default 
(in theory, and rather redundantly). Of course, since one of us turned 
off "automatically flag commercials while recording" and the other of us 
turned off "flag commercials after recording" on a *lot* of different 
shows, it will probably only help on the remainder.

(I'm guessing we had *so much trouble* trying to get the machine to 
record three things at once and then switch to three other things, 
almost at the same time, that we didn't want to add commercial flagging 
to the load. sometimes we do it after, sometimes the machine does it 
after, and sometimes I take 5 minutes and do it manually. The flagging 
on Scrubs is particularly onerous. It's always off somewhere or other 
and needs to be adjusted manually.)
