Yes  I  was aware of the ivtv and alsa module thing. I also lucked out
and  it  was  taken care of by yum when I did the upgrade. I thank you
for  the  thought,  but I unfortunately still have the lirc issue. I'm
guessing  that  the  change  in  how the module is loaded is where I'm
having my issue. Like the ivtv-fb changing to ivtvfb. I bet my problem
is similar to that.
