If you refer to the CC indicator in the frontend, that information comes 
from the database, which in turn gets it from the tv listings source you 
are using.

For recordings made with ivtv cards: If you use mythtranscode to, say, cut 
out the commercials,  the vbi stream containing the closed captions does 
not 'survive' the transcoding process.
