A similar thing happened to me, with the Hauppauge
500. As it turns out I had it configured as ATSC which
worked fine a while back, but then as of an upgrade
(about a month ago to the latest SVN) it failed.  My
test at the time was live TV, so it was not until a
couple days later when I realized there was a problem.
 Setting it to NTSC was the fix.

I don't know if this is your problem too, but looking
at the log for mythbackend may well help explain the problem.
