I know it's probably more than you want to spend, but the $299 Ipod
Touch is exactly what you are talking about.  I'm planning on getting
one soon.  I use a Dell Axim X51V right now which would also fit your
needs, but Dell stopped selling them.  Any windows mobile device will
do what you want.  You could ebay an X51V.  Both have wireless
internet which is a HUGE plus.
