[mythtv-users] pcHDTV HD3000 stops receiving

Well yes. I have similar behavior with my HD3000 and Knoppmyth.

Please see my e-mail "HD3000 Firmware loading/unloading problem"
posted here Oct 24th. (Be warned -- don't get your hopes up; the post
offers no help).

Here's my theory about how the HD3000 works and the source of our trouble.

The card requires the Firmware: dvb-fe-or51132-qam,
dvb-fe-or51132-vsb.fw, dvb-fe-or51211.fw to be installed on the
machine. I'm guessing that when the card needs to capture a particular
type of signal, QAM for example, it loads the dvb-fe-or51132-qam
firmware.

The trouble occurs when one or more of the following occur:

1. The system tries to load the firmware to the card eventhough
firmware is already loaded.

2. The firmware unloads for some reason.

3. The firmware never loads properly.

Couple of questions:

You capture signal Over The Air -- right? I'm assuming this because
you use the term "can't get a lock."

My machine is loud and in my bedroom. So I shut it down often. I most
frequently notice this problem after booting; the system seems to be
operating correctly, yet fails to capture a signal. Have you noticed a
problem at boot as well? Or do you reboot too infrequently to notice?

Any errors in the logs?

What Mobo, Video Card?

Can you post the results of dmesg | grep tuner* ?

Thanks
