[mythtv-users] Any way to iconify the frontend GUI window while it plays TV?

I'm using RandR with 800x600 for the GUI and 720x576 for TV watching.
This is for a number of reasons:
1) 800x600 means it doesn't spend time recaling the theme at startup.
2) 800x600 turns on the TV chips undercan and scaler so I can see all
the GUI
and it smooths horizontal lines so they don't boggle.
3) 720x576 fills the screen and turns off the TV chip deinterlace and scale.
This would be perfect apart from an ugly transition back to 800x600 at
the end of video, the screen goes black, randr changes to 800x600 and
then the gui appears as 720x576 in the top left, then the gui refreshes
to the right size. Is it possible for the frontend to iconify itself
prior to changing the screen dimension and then deiconify itself after
the randr after TV play in one step? I'm using ratpoison if that affects
things.
I'm on SVN fixes and I don't mind applying patches.
Cheers,
Tim.
