If you need something to boost your cable signal, you might want
to try this signal booster from Motorola:

It's a bit pricey, but I have it in my house and it works great.
You install it at the point where the cable enters your home. I
did this because of all the splits I have and to try to improve
the analog picture quality throughout my house. It won't
interfere with your cable modem or On Demand/Pay-per-view stuff
if you have those (I have Comcast as well).

I'm having problems with my HD recordings from my comcast cable.
I am using
an HD Homerun. I am getting lots of artifacts accompanied by
"chirping".
The log spits out tons of these messages:

I could live with it, but it causes my frontend to crash every
5-10 minutes.
Any ideas on why this is happening? Is it just poor cable signal
to my
house? I think I'm going to have a tough time convincing my
cable company
that their line quality is messing up my Myth server.
I saw the exact same problem and those exact messages with OTA
HD. Turned out to be a signal strength issue for me. After some
antenna adjustments, the problems went away completely. I'm not
sure if it's the same problem in your case, but it's likely.
