If mythbackend is automatically run as a service when you boot up then
you are better starting and stopping it using the proper commands to
start and stop services. It varies slightly between distributions but
'/etc/init.d/mythbackend start' and '/etc/init.d/mythbackend stop' will
work on most distro's. You can also use '/sbin/service mythbackend
start' and 'sbin/service mythbackend stop' on some distro's like Fedora
Core. Both methods also accept 'status' and 'restart' for the last
parameter that will tell you if the service is running and restart the
service respectively. You should only explicitly kill a service using
killall if all else fails.
