OTOH, I've been using MythTV on an all 64-bit systems (both Gentoo and
Ubuntu) from day one more than two years ago with no major stability
problems except due to unsafe AGP settings (which is now fixed). I have
1 PVR-150 and 2 Air2PC cards and I can record from all three while
commflagging and watching. The machine has usually been up for weeks or
months at a time, though I'm probably going to configure it to shut down
when not in use.

The advice about selectively removing hardware is good. Flaky hardware
can be almost impossible to diagnose. Also make sure that everything is
getting sufficient cooling. Overheating CPUs can cause intermittent
errors. I've also been surprised at how hot my tuner cards can get, even
though I have two intake and one exhaust fan.
