The Intel driver is actually sorta decent other than the fact that the DVI
didn't work and I couldn't find a place to turn it on. The drivers were fine
at standard resolutions. My problems started when I tried to drive my 720p
TV. I used 915resolution to hack the video BIOS to display that mode, but I
could never get X to use that resolution. I posted a few times on this list
and no one was able to get me on track.

In the end I spent every evening for 2 weeks trying to get that damn video
to work properly when I just gave up, bought an Nvidia card and it ran 720p
right out of the box after the drivers were installed.

Good Luck!
