I guess I should not post 5 minutes after waking up. I meant to say
that although I did not use the ZFS raid layer I probably should have
used a blank hard drive instead of a partition on a software raid
array or even better a machine with a set of 5 or more blank drives so
I could test the zraid performance. I actually have this now as I just
hooked up 8 750GB seagate 7200.10 drives to a machine to make sure
none of them are DOA, however I am not sure if I will get time to
test.
