Recordings and movies can go anywhere you like. Generally, you would put 
it all on the backend because of the heat (and noise) generated by the 
hard disks, but there's no reason why you *have* to.

You might put movies (and transcoded recordings) on the frontend to 
avoid going over the network while playing them back. That's really only 
worthwhile when you've just got the one frontend, though.
