[mythtv-users] ATI video card, which one?

Fair enough.  However, in that case, keep in mind, the amount of
experience with ATI gear around here is severely limited.  TBH, I have
no idea if you can even get DVI out working on an ATI card, let alone
which models you'll need.  So be prepared to start digging around
outside of the myth mailing lists (say, ATI support forums or
somesuch?), since the default answer, here, tends to be "just buy
nVidia". :)
