Hi,
I have 1x PVR150 and 1x PVR500. Mythbox has 2 IDE WD hard disks,
Athlon X2 AM2 3800+ EE SFF, 1 GB single channel RAM.
I pretty often see this message, usually a few lines a day although
the mythbox is doing nothing else (recording one show, no watching or
anything else). This error appears just for a 2-3 seconds in the
syslog:
Oct 15 10:50:07 mythbox kernel: ivtv1: Cause: the application is not
reading fast enough.
Oct 15 10:50:07 mythbox kernel: ivtv1: All encoder VBI stream buffers
are full. Dropping data.
Oct 15 10:50:07 mythbox kernel: ivtv1: Cause: the application is not
reading fast enough.
Oct 15 10:50:08 mythbox kernel: ivtv1: All encoder VBI stream buffers
are full. Dropping data.
I saw some discussions on IVTV lists and this problem is according to
the list an application (MythTv) problem and this is fixed according
to this ticket: http://svn.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/1660
Is this in the current SVN? I am using ~10 days weeks old SVN MythTv
version. It is probably.
Does anyone know how to prevent these errors? Hard disks have
activated AAM (Acoustic Management) which is maybe causing them to be
not as fast as usual, but this should not affect recording one show.
Thanks.
M.
