[mythtv-users] Extra, extra audio buffering? (sound "static" and "jerkyness" only when OSD is up)

I'm running a Myth Front/Backend combination with an nVidia graphics
card using XVMC. It's a Celeron D 3.2Ghz, and during playback of HD
content the frontend uses aprox. 20-40% of the CPU and the rest is idle.
(I'm using SVN Trunk 14616 right now, but have had the same problem for
a while.)
However, the audio was jerky and static until I turned on "Extra Audio
Buffering". Now, the audio is OK when watching TV or recordings.
However, whenever an OSD is up (volume display, channel browser, menu,
or even Closed Captions) the audio gets "jerky" and "staticy" (to use
technical terms). The CPU usage doesn't go up noticeably (50-70% idle)
but the audio is disrupted.
I have already enabled "Extra Audio Buffering", so I tried realtime
priority threads and/or Sync audio to video, but neither of them fixed
my problem.
I'm using the generic motherboard audio
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High
Definition Audio Controller (rev 01)
My question: Is there a setting I can change to get "extra, extra" audio
buffering?
Or do I have to edit source code to bump up a constant somewhere? (Any
developers want to tell me where to look?)
Or has anybody else ran into this and have a better/different solution?
Thanks,
Jay
