I have an VIA EPIA M10000 slave backend with a WinTV PVR 150 tuner
installed. Looking at /var/log/dmesg, /var/log/message, and
/var/log/mythtv/mythbackend.log, it seems that the slave tuner
installation is correct. The WinTV PVR 150 tuner card shows up in
both the master backend and the slave backend, "System Status",
"Tuner Status" as "Tuner 3 is unavailable" and does not operate from
either machine.
The master backend has a WinTV PVR 500 that has two tuners on a
single PCI card. Both of these tuners are functional and usable from
either the master backend or the slave backend.
The slave backend is recognized by the master backend and vice versa.
Using either machine, I can browse the programming guide, watch TV
(from the WinTV PVR 500 on the master backend), watch recordings
(from the raid on the master backend), and schedule recordings.
I have tried everything, including multiple reinstallations of all
the tuner cards as well as reinstalling the video source on both
machines. I have also updated /home/mythtv/.mythtv/mysql.txt,
/root/.mythtv/mysql.txt, and /.mythtv/mysql to reflect the correct
name and IP address of both the master backend and the slave backend.
I am tearing my hair out! The slave runs both mythbackend and mysql
but it seems that it really does know it is a slave and acts accordingly.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to make Tuner 3 available for use.
