I believe the correct driver is snd_hda_intel.

if you execute the following command and get output like what I have
you do not have the driver compiled in your kernel.
 zgrep HDA /proc/config.gz
# CONFIG_SENSORS_HDAPS is not set
# CONFIG_SND_HDA_INTEL is not set
