That's the "basically" in "basically read-only." You can change the
stable read-only (i.e. no writing at all) driver into an experimental
write-to-existing-files-only-and-only-as-long-as-file-size-doesn't-change
driver by enabling a kernel compile option, but really, if you want
write support, you're probably better off just using ntfs-3g.
