I had done this already. I run Ubuntu and I was advised that the 'var'
folder was a good place for large temp files. So, I set the path
as /var/temp/mytharchive. The .iso file was not there. I have tried to
search the whole of my HDD and I cannot find it.

I had read that this was the case.

I know what you mean and I do try to work things through to the end.
