[mythtv-users] xscreensaver, ubuntu packages

Has anyone had any luck with getting xscreensaver working with the
ubuntu mythtv packages?

I've read the faq, googled and searched the mailing list, but all I'm
finding is:

- "It should just work".  It doesn't.
- "Turn off the screensaver completely".  I'd rather not

I've made sure xscreensaver is running before mythfrontend is started,
and by replacing /usr/bin/xscreensaver-command with a little shell
script I'm fairly sure it's just not being called at all.
